I hear that frequent tanning in the sun is bad for you, as it can be cancer-causing, as well as age skin. Is there a place in Hong Kong where I can get a decent spray-tan? Annete
Annete, thank you for bringing up the serious issue of sun damage! The skin is the bodies biggest organ and so we must protect it. Yes, the sun is very bad for your skin, it causes up to 95% of visible aging and worse still undoubtedly causes skin cancer. It is simply not worth frying in the sun and exposing yourself to damage. On KellyEngland.com I am running a campaign that for safety everyone in HK must wear SPF 30+ every day, especially on our faces. Tanning beds are also very harmful and should be avoided. Enjoy being pretty and pale (which is now really in fashion) or if you want a change then head to Feel Good Factor and for $400 they will spray you with 'Fantasy Tan' to give you a glowing bronzed look. Remember, you must add cremes over your new tan and in direct sun ALWAYS wear a hat. Stay safe, stay beautiful.
Loosing hair on one eye brow & thus not even with the other. Apart from using black eye brow pencil, is there any better way, to fill in the gaps, thus matching the pair ? Anna
Equal eye brows are essential to balance out your face and frame the eyes. Are you plucking one eyebrow more than the other or are they just falling out? So, as for filling I recommend that you use a brush and hard powder rather than a pencil as it gives a more natural appearance and also lasts longer. Get a slanted brush especially for the brows and use a dark brown or black eye shadow which is matt. Then gradually apply in the direction of hair growth to the brows. Afterwards fix the colour and position with a clear mascara. Hopefully the look should last all day if you don't touch it. Voila - glamorous brows for you!
Have a slight rounded dent ( after attack of measles ) on my nose, which will never seem2go. Is there any filler like cream, gel or remedy, so as to even it out to match with the rest of the skin ? Kwan Fung Yi
Everyone has something they don't love about themselves, and I think the best way to cover those imperfections is by having a good lifestyle. But, those skin-care product are so expensive, lots of people can't buy it. And another way is make-up. But the cleansing oils are so expensive. We just can't bear it. Is there a cheaper way to keep our skin clean?
You have a good attitude and are correct that a good healthy lifestyle is really the secret to looking good. There are alternatives to big brands when it comes to skincare. Firstly, your best friend can be a hot steaming flannel made with hot water placed upon your face . Not only is this extremely relaxing but it also opens the pores and helps to clean off the debris of the day. The reason that cleansing oils are expensive is because of the extensive testing for safety and also the quality of the ingredients that are includes. I believe it quality not quantity so it is better to save up for one or two products than having hundreds of less effective ones. Diet and lifestyle combine to give us beauty. Enjoy!
I am quite thin but I have stretch marks on my hips. Do stretch marks ever go away? What should I do to make them go away? Does everyone have stretch marks? Tanya
Please know that almost everyone has stretch marks, men and women. They often come from fast grow spurts when the skin is literally 'stretched'. I also have some still from my teen years and as a model I learned to cover them with concealer for shoots. However, after some time they do fade away naturally. Exercise can also help to tighten the skin and make them less noticeable. I am sure that no one would really notice them but to you they may seem large. I suggest you get some vitamin A oil and massage it in to speed things up. In time you will forget about them as they disappear.
I have blackheads all over my nose. I regularly wash my face and I use cleansing products every day. I can still see blackhead marks and they are very obvious. How can I get rid of them? My skin is rather oily. Joyce Fong
Hmm, blackheads are ugly and also a pain to get rid of. Almost everyone has them. My tips are, exfoliate, steam with a clean hot flannel and then VERY gently squeeze with clean hands with tissue between your fingers and the nose. Now, squeezing can leave marks so be very gentle, but sometimes the only way to remove blackheads is by lifting it out of the skin. A well trained facialist should also be able to help you with gentle extraction. Also, keep dirty hands away from your face in the day. Use an astingent toner after cleansing to clean and close those pores. Let me know how it goes.

Hi! I was wondering what make-up I should wear for prom. I'm 15, my skin is pale and sort of yellow, and I have black hair. I have a single eyelid, small eyes, and a round face. I can't seem to find any make-up styles that suits my face. I'm trying to match the make up with a medium dark purple dress. Can you suggest me some make-up that I can useor a beauty salon that is cheap, as I have never used make-up before. I also want the look to be natural but quite obvious that I have used some make-up as well. HELP! and THANK YOU in advance!:D
Oh yeah, i have advantage in my face though, that's my really long eyelashes! and thanks again!

I have really dry hair but not frizzy, it's more like wavy. I tried doing hot oil in the hair salons but it doesn't really seem to help. What can I do that is cheap and effective?

What do you think about eyelash tinting? Where is good? Then can you do without mascara? Thanks!
